First visitor from USA: Flat Andrew

Many of you are probably familiar with Flat Stanley, the book that inspired many a school project.   My brother’s fiance’s nephew Andrew from Nashville created a “Flat Andrew” paper doll.  He then mailed Flat Andrew to Heidi and Dean to have some adventures in the desert and help his class learn about geography.  Heidi mailed Flat Andrew to me for a quick visit.  He was a quiet houseguest and took up very little space in my small apartment.

He became fast friends with JAFA the whale.  JAFA (Just Another *Friendly* Aucklander) belongs to Roy and Sarah Clare.  He is on more of an long-term exchange program, whereas Andrew is on a fly-by visit. You may notice that Flat Andrew became an All Blacks fan while he was here.  His rugby jersey is #7, same as ABs Captain Richie McCaw.  One last note, I got a haircut today, so this photo of me is so yesterday!

They spent the day in St Heliers Bay where we took these snapshots:

  1. Julie…..never mind flat Andrew, how about skinny Julie! Holy crap…..you look GREAT. Your smile is radiant and it’s clear that the stress that was smothering you has evaporated. You look FABULOUS.
